Medical insurance for foreigners in Bulgaria

• Medical expenses for emergency conditions in case of accident and/or acute illness, incurred for outpatient and inpatient medical care;
• Transportation costs;
• Dental care expenses – coverage includes sudden emergency conditions, with a limit of up to 255.65 euros.

• Treatment and hospital stays for existing chronic conditions; preventive examinations and immunizations, mental illnesses and disorders, as well as their consequences;
• AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases;
• Diseases related to malignant or benign growths, planned neurosurgical, cardiological, and eye operations, etc. (full information on excluded diseases can be found in the General Terms and Conditions);
• Health damage due to alcohol consumption, fighting, attempted suicide or suicide, committing a criminal offense, or other activity prohibited by law;
• Examinations, diagnostics, and treatment not prescribed by a doctor, but at the request of the Insured person.

Foreign nationals residing short-term or long-term in the Republic of Bulgaria, or transiting through the country, are insured individually or in groups.

The insurance is mandatory under Bulgarian legislation and provides compensation for incurred medical and transportation expenses in case of emergency medical and dental care due to sudden illness or accident, occurring during the Insured person's stay in the Republic of Bulgaria, for 1 to 365 days.

"Medical Insurance for Foreigners" in Bulgaria can also be a voluntary insurance.
