For October 3, 2025, NIMH has issued Level 1 and Level 2 weather warnings (yellow and orange codes) for significant rain across the country, turning to snow in mountainous areas by evening and overnight into Friday.

Strong northeasterly winds will persist in eastern Bulgaria and high-altitude areas. Snow cover and drifting snow are expected along mountain passes in western and central Bulgaria. Heavy, wet snow also poses a risk of falling branches and trees.

An orange code is in effect for the following regions: Vidin, Montana, Lovech, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Razgrad, Varna, Burgas, Sliven, Plovdiv, Kardzhali, Vratsa, Shumen, Stara Zagora, Haskovo, Smolyan, Yambol, Targovishte, and Gabrovo.
