Thanks to Groupama, over 1,600 students and teachers across Bulgaria are now better equipped and prepared to provide first aid to anyone injured in an accident.

The latest edition of our "Life Savers" initiative recently came to a close, focusing specifically on training students and teachers across Bulgaria. Alongside our partners from the First Aid School of the "First Three Minutes" Foundation, we invested in young people and educators, confident that building a more supportive and prepared society starts in the classroom.

We expanded Groupama's program to reach students in late 2024, training nearly 600 youths in Sofia. Encouraged by this success, we scaled up our efforts in 2025, bringing life-saving skills to 1,100 students and teachers across 11 Bulgarian cities.

We believe that "Life Savers" lays the foundation for safer local communities and fosters responsible citizenship. This initiative continues to prove that first aid knowledge is more than just a skill—it is a core value that saves lives.

Students and teachers from the following schools took part in the 2025 training sessions:

1. AELS "Geo Milev" – Burgas;

2. SPHS "Dr. Petar Aladzhov" – Veliko Tarnovo;

3. Vocational High School "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov" – Vidin;

4. SU "Lyuben Karavelov" – Plovdiv;

5. HS of Economics "Dr. Ivan Bogrov" – Varna;

6. SU "Nikola Voyvodov" – Vratsa;

7. HS of Economics "Prof. Dr. Dimitar Tabakov" – Sliven;

8. HS of Economics "Ivan Iliev" – Blagoevgrad;

9. AG "Geo Milev" – Ruse;

10. High School of Mathematics and Science "Geo Milev" – Stara Zagora;

11. High School of Mathematics "Geo Milev" – Pleven.

Local authority representatives and Groupama regional managers attended the sessions to support the participants and highlight the crucial role young people play in building a safer society.

The training sessions were specially adapted for the "Life Savers" program with a strong focus on practical application. In addition to first aid demonstrations, participants practiced their skills hands-on right on the spot. The most exciting activity was a team challenge performing CPR to the rhythm of music, which built strong team spirit and left a lasting impression on everyone.

At the end of each session, participants received a medal recognizing their courage, dedication, and readiness to help in critical situations.

The enthusiasm and commitment shown by participants in Sofia and across the country inspire us to expand the program next year, helping even more people become "Life Savers" for a safer, more caring community.

Groupama launched its global "Life Savers" initiative in 2022 to empower as many people as possible with essential first aid techniques. Globally, over 200,000 people have been trained to date.
