Movember: Groupama supports men's health and prevention

Breaking the stigma: Why Movember is vital
November is globally recognized as Movember (from "Moustache" and "November") – a month dedicated to raising awareness about critical health issues specific to men. The focus is on cancer prevention, including prostate and testicular cancer, as well as the essential topic of men's mental health. The mustache emblem in Movember is a visible call to action aimed at shattering outdated stereotypes that often lead men to neglect their well-being. The core message is that seeking help and taking timely care of yourself is not a weakness, but a sign of strength and responsibility.
Groupama's commitment: Awareness, action, and internal culture
In line with our global cause to promote better health and advocate for prevention, Groupama Insurance actively spotlights Movember through three main initiatives.
Social and educational campaign
Throughout November, we are sharing a series of posts on social media to focus attention on the topic. They compile tips, facts, and up-to-date information to raise awareness about the benefits of preventive care and timely support. As part of our commitment, Groupama will provide 30 free PSA laboratory tests. The PSA test is an essential first indicator of potential prostate issues and a key element in early diagnosis.
To encourage participation and reach a wider audience, everyone who comments on or likes our Movember posts on social media will automatically enter a raffle at the end of the month.
Internal campaign and team engagement
Internally, Groupama is also working to create a supportive environment by running an awareness campaign for our colleagues, encouraging open conversations on the subject. To add a fun touch and highlight the campaign's symbol, our team was treated to special gingerbread cookies featuring playful mustaches—the emblem of the month. The cookies also carried a social impact, baked by the "Biskvitkite" (The Cookies) bakery, which provides employment for people with disabilities. It is a small yet meaningful gesture to highlight the cause in a positive way.
Visiting exhibition "Hear My Voice": The courage to be vulnerable
As a natural extension of our cause, Groupama Insurance extends a special invitation to visit the interactive exhibition "Hear My Voice." Created by the Emprove Foundation, the exhibition showcases striking portraits of 8 well-known Bulgarian men alongside their personal stories. Through QR codes, visitors can listen to each man share vulnerable moments, fears, and trauma. Participants include personalities such as Aleksandar Kadiev, Georgi Gospodinov, Marten Roberto, and others. "Men's voices have the power to break the stigma around male mental health... The goal is to normalize men seeking support and taking better care of both their physical and emotional well-being," say the creators from the Emprove Foundation.
The exhibition is hosted in the lobby of Polygraphia Office Center until November 24, organized by Groupama Insurance with the support of Polygraphia Office Center. Groupama Insurance invites everyone to join the Movember initiatives. Let's work together to foster empathy, prevention, and care for better health.
