Are you a talented API Developer who thrives in a serverless, event-driven architecture? We are seeking an expert to build a high-performance new solution leveraging Python/FastAPI for a powerful backend, all deployed on Google Cloud Platform. This is a chance to work with modern, cutting-edge services like Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and Apigee from day one.
You will be the architect of our system’s communication, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable API solutions that connect our services and users securely and efficiently
Keys responsibilities:
- Backend Architecture: Design, implement, and deploy high-performance microservices using Python and the FastAPI framework on Cloud Run (for containers) and Cloud Functions (for event-driven workloads).
- API Management & Security: Implement and manage API proxies, policies, and security layers using Apigee to govern all external and internal API traffic.
- Event-Driven Design: Utilize Pub/Sub for asynchronous communication, building scalable, decoupled systems and workflows.
- Quality Assurance : Participate in code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and ensure application performance and reliability.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Implement containerization (Docker) and establish CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment across GCP services.
Core Technology Stack & Requirements:
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate deep, hands-on experience with the following technologies:
- Backend - Expert Python programming, developing RESTful APIs with FastAPI.
- GCP Serverless - Cloud Run (container deployment), Cloud Functions (event handling).
- GCP Integration - Pub/Sub for message queuing and event-driven architecture.
- Databases - Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Firestore)
- DevOps - Docker, Git, and experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Cloud Build, Jenkins).
- Experience integrating with third-party verification or compliance vendors.
- Strong understanding of data privacy, especially handling identity documents.
- Considered as an advantage: Experience with APIGEE (API proxy creation, security, policies).
