Groupama's business is growing at more than 20% per year and in our commitment to continuous development and progress, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team.
Our data team generates and manages data 24/7 across all our business operations:
- In nature – PII, sales, offers, policies, notifications, and more
- in volume: we have numerous customers, in long life cycle with aggregation of life events, generating big data volumes
- in treatment & dynamics: – simulations, risk calculations, AI implementation

Data Engineers at Groupama design, build, and maintain our data systems, with a strong focus on our Data Lake architecture. They are the guardians of the data lifecycle—from raw inputs to clean, structured, actionable data, enabling business insights through automation and visualization.
As a Data Engineer, you will:
- Lead and continuously improving our Data Lake initiatives and create architectures and pipelines that ensure data quality, security, and resilience.
- identify data value, design efficient pipelines, and build scalable datasets used across business and AI solutions.
- transforms raw, unstructured data into meaningful, actionable structures.
- responsible for enabling predictive/prescriptive analytics and data-driven decision-making for both operations and executive leadership.
- Enforcing data cataloguing and metadata management
- Ensuring data security and governance compliance
- Normalize and integrate data from various sources (contracts, CRM, claims, banking systems, etc.)
- Understand insurance business needs and translate them into data structures.
- Identify new data acquisition opportunities and ensure data traceability.
- Develop and configure analytical and monitoring tools
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL (BigQuery is SQL-based).
- Hands-on experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) or similar data transformation frameworks.
- Experience with BigQuery or other cloud data warehouse tools.
- Familiarity with Git workflows – pull, push, merge requests.
- Experience working with Bitbucket.
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java and Python).
- Solid understanding of ETL, data modelling, and data warehousing principles.
- Excellent analytical, logical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field; Master’s is a plus.
